Episode 3: City as abuser

Video premiered at the Stolen Belonging: A Reckoning And Reclamation art / action on 11/14/22 at SF’s City Hall in collaboration with Coalition on Homelessness, Poor Magazine, unhoused San Franciscans and allies. It was also released tandem with our City As Abuser Street Sheet issue and as well as a new DPW whistleblower interview acknowledging the theft and abuse City workers enact against homeless residents and noting that those know to steal belongings from the sweeps were promoted by DPW management.

Episode 3: City As Abuser - Witness stories of SFPD and DPW’s daily violence, theft and abuse targeting unhoused San Franciscans in the sweeps. Video also includes excerpts from our new DPW whistleblower interview and licensed clinician Diana Valentine who details the trauma the City knows it’s inflicting upon homeless residents as they work to banish them from sight.

Follow Coalition on Homelessness for latest updates on their lawsuit filed along with LCCR, ACLU Norther California and seven unhoused San Franciscans to hold the city accountable for the theft and abuses covered in Stolen Belonging’s videos and submitted as declarations for the suit.

This project is a collaboration between Coalition on Homelessness and Artist/Organizer Leslie Dreyer, working with Couper Orona, TJ Johnston, Meghan Johnson (aka Roadkill), Sophia Thibodeaux, Patricia Alonzo and Charles Davis - some the fiercest homeless advocates in San Francisco.
